It comes from the muscle that helps support the diaphragm between a cow’s rib and loin, its just sort of “hanging there” and it does absolutely nothing… as a result its one of the most tender steaks. A thicker cut within the Short Plate that’s full of flavor with a coarse texture.

Such an underrated or not well know cut…..It’s amazing!!! My go to when entertaining guests and everyone has been truly amazed. These have been A+ on every delivery so I’ll keep ordering!
They are fantastic as always. They are so tender they cut with the side of your fork. I dont do anything fancy with them either. Sea salt, pepper, a bit of ground mustard and garlic powder. Grill em up!

I had never had a hangar before. However; had heard of them and been wanting to try for a while with them being the “butchers cut.” The steak did not disappoint and of course MA quality was there. I reverse seared to 105, then brought up to temp over flames. Was perfection.
This is my new favorite steak. So much beefy flavor, so tender with a reverse sear. Best value for price!! I might just order a whole box next time!!!
